Summary Description:
The Software Support II position provides 1st tier support for division level software including but not limited to Student Management, Human Resources and Finance software.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology or a related field with a minimum of four years’ experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Student Management, Human Resource and Finance Management Software.
- Database and query experience.
- Strong organizational skills required,
- Ability to communicate and collaborate well in a team environment.
Essential Duties:
- Handle software related requests for assistance through phone, email and in-person.
- Troubleshoot software and identify root causes of software problems.
- Determine, review criticality and prioritize resolution of issues.
- Create and maintain student information system accounts in a secure manner that complies with current federal, state and local student data privacy laws such as FERPA.
- Assist in research and evaluation of new software technologies.
- Maintain, setup, and provide training related to the FCPS online student registration system.
- Organizes training, when necessary, in the use of division level software for end users.
- Ensures that interfaces between software applications and databases are maintained and that data transfers happen in a timely manner.
- Obtains vendor support if necessary to resolve software issues.
- Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.
Pay Rate:
Administrative Support Grade P8 Salary Scale (credit is based on years of full-time experience in a related position)
Assignment: Full time / 12 months / 245 days
