Summary:

The office of Special Instructional Services for FCPS offers a specialist internship for eligible candidates in school psychology.

This position reports to the Director of Special Instructional Services and the assigned School Psychologist.  Under supervision, this position provides professional educational and psychological services to students to include psycho-educational assessments, short-term counseling, consultation with school-based staff regarding behavioral, social and academic student concerns, and provide direct intervention with students when appropriate.  All duties will be assigned by the SIS Director and assigned School Psychologist. Specific duties and responsibilities will reflect the context and needs of each school to which a school psychology intern is assigned.  

 

The job goal is to deliver psychological and educational services that facilitate learning and promote the cognitive, social, and personal development of all students. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Verification of completion of all coursework/practicum experiences of a school psychology program
  • A recommendation from the program that the student is eligible to enter into a school psychology internship

Students interested in applying for an internship with FCPS must provide the following materials electronically via the online application process:

  • Cover letter expressing why the applicant is interested in the internship program
  • A resume or vita (preferred)
  • Three professional recommendations
  • A psychological evaluation report redacted to protect confidential information

Pay Rate:

The salary is $25,000.00 for the length of the internship
