Qualifications:
- Postgraduate Professional Certificate in Administration and Supervision PreK-12
- Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Educational Leadership, or a related field
- Minimum of five years of recent successful experience as a public school administrator or student support services leader
- Experience in overseeing school-based student support services, including behavioral and mental health, counseling, and intervention programs
- Experience implementing programs to reduce barriers to learning for underserved and at-risk student populations
- Experience in designing and leading the implementation of a district-wide or large-scale MTSS framework, with an emphasis on data-informed decision-making, progress monitoring, and service evaluation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills to engage effectively with a diverse school community, including students, staff, and parents
- Demonstrated knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework and its application within K-12 schools
- Strong skills in collaboration and cross-departmental teamwork to effectively coordinate and align student services
Essential Duties:

- Lead the division’s strategy to deliver targeted prevention, intervention, and transition services that support student success across the district by designing and ensuring implementation of our three-tiered student support services P.IT. framework
- Design and Lead MTSS Framework: Oversee the design and implementation of a tiered support services framework that emphasizes strategies for prevention, intervention, and transition. Ensure the effective evaluation, installation, and integration of MTSS across schools, supporting targeted outcomes for all students.
- Support Development and Capacity Building: Lead support and capacity-building initiatives for Student Support Specialists, providing ongoing guidance and direction for school-based Student Support Teams (SST) teams.
- Program Development and Evaluation: Develop, implement, and assess programs within the scope of Student Support Services, including MTSS initiatives, health services, and counseling.
- Serve as the Title IX Coordinator for student matters for the division
- Provide leadership and supervision to Bright Futures
- Oversee the coordination of health assessments and health care services for the division with the Coordinator of School Health Services.
- Health Services Coordination: Supervise the delivery of health assessments and health care services with the Coordinator of School Health Services, ensuring quality and accessibility of care.
- School Counseling Services: Supervise the delivery of school-based counseling services in collaboration with the Supervisor of Counseling/Social Work/504 to meet social-emotional needs of students and families..
- Coordinate and/or provide staff development opportunities for student support staff members and other school personnel.
- Hire, supervise and evaluate personnel for the Office of Student Support Services.
- Develop, implement and evaluate programs for areas of responsibility covered by the Office of Student Support Services.
- Maintain and manage the material and financial resources of the Office of Student Support Services, including the Title I part D.
- Monitor the implementation of the attendance policy and related regulations and procedures.
- Provide services to prevent and address student dropouts.
- Coordinate and monitor home instruction and home-based programs for FCPS.
- Consult with students, parents, and administrators for Behavioral Threat Assessment Case Management
- Oversee the Division Behavioral Threat Assessment Management Team
- Support all schools with the implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports programs
- Provide support and management of required procedures to parents in the division who provide home instruction for their children
- Attend and offer support services to students at discipline hearings
- Coordinate division FCPS Bullying Prevention and Character Education programs.
- Act as the FCPS liaison for the enforcement of the McKinney-Vento Act (homeless) and Fostering Connections (foster care) programs.
- Actively participate on school- and community-based committees, boards and in meetings.
- Manage Administrative Variance Process: Oversee the coordination and management of the division's Administrative Variance process to ensure equitable access and support for families as appropriate.
- Attendance and Dropout Prevention: Oversee attendance policy implementation and provide services aimed at reducing student dropout rates.
- Other duties as assigned.
Pay Rate:
The salary range is $99,500-$167,864
